The culture of a people is dictated by an underlying set of beliefs and attitudes, known as values. For example, organizations have “core” values, which inform their daily choices or the activities that they focus their energies on. While most organizations have core values, few commit to them. For those who commit to them, the benefits may not always be short term, but the long-term benefits are worth the commitment. Unless there is a revolution of values in our nation, our future is bleak. There has to be a deliberate emphasis on progressive values at every level of leadership in our dear nation. Every Ghanaian must be activated to live by values that support sustainable development and national prosperity.
A national attitude of Love
True love is the solution to Ghana’s socio-economic and political problems. It shifts every citizen from greed and selfishness, to becoming a blessing as a lifestyle. Embracing love is imperative for sustainable progress. An attitude of love positions us for God-results because God is love. God is the only source of this kind of love. The good news, however, is that this type of love is available to every single Ghanaian who wants to operate this immortal quality. We have the power to transform our nation with love.
True love will make you shift from being a victim of life’s challenges to being a master over the circumstances of your life. An attitude of love is a real asset for national development. Love is the most resilient fabric for building a diversified nation. Every citizen therefore must be responsible with their speech. At every level of the society, injurious language should not be encouraged. Speech must generally build and edify its intended audience.
Love’s power over corruption
Every corrupt act is a breach of love. Walking in love towards one another therefore is the only guarantee for near-zero corruption in our societies. Love for our nation, will make us contribute to her development and not just look for creative ways of short-changing it. When we commit to walking in love towards one another, we will realize that cheating a fellow citizen is cheating yourself in the long run. If our nation will be healed of all the lawlessness and corruption, then love is a must for every citizen.
Love’s power over fear
No timid nation can compete effectively in the league of nations. Timidity is the offspring of fear and there is no better cure for fear than the God-kind of love. When we develop a national attitude of love, we will activate the citizenry to be bold, confident and adventurous. There will be no fear of failure, need or pain. A new breed of entrepreneurs, politicians, educationist and parents will emerge to redesign our nation for relevance in the future.
