Faith is such an indispensable virtue, a fuller appreciation of how it works will increase our effectiveness in living in tandem with the divine order in Genesis 1:26. We have to continuously increase and enhance our understanding of the dynamics of faith so as to ensure a higher success rate in our deployment of this potent virtue in God’s Word.
There exists the mystery of faith because we know in part. God is omniscient hence faith is not mysterious to him. The truth, however, is you don’t have to know every thing about faith for it to produce. Every understanding of faith engaged produces results. For instance, the woman with the issue of blood’s faith had to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment (Mark 5:28). The centurion’s faith said speak the word only and my servant shall be healed (Matthew 8:8) whilst Jairus faith said come and lay your hand on my daughter and she shall be healed (Mark 5:23). These faith positions were informed by what they had heard about the living Word-Jesus the Christ.
Faith is the substance
According to Hebrews 11:1 faith is the substance of things hoped for. Faith is not flaky and shaky. Faith is certain. Faith is solid. faith is assured. Because faith originates from the Word of God, faith is a witness and the evidence to the invisible reality of the declarations of the Word of God. Walking in faith therefore is not a guess work. It is confronting the vicissitudes of life with solid invisible substance and recreating a new reality for yourself and others through the Word.
Faith speaks
Faith calls the things which are not as though they were. Notice, faith doesn’t call the things that are as though they are not. Through your mouth faith unleashes the reality of the invisible realm to overwhelm the circumstances of your life until the Word of God becomes the reality of your day to day life. Manifesting the Word in your life no matter what the circumstances of your life are is the fight of faith. You must mind your words and language if you must do well in the school of faith. Faith has an attitude and spirit that must be present in your lingo. Align your thoughts and speech with the Word of God and you will flow on the faith frequency. Faith’s residence is your heart and mouth.
Faith is a fruit
Faith is the fruit that results from fertilizing your spirit with the Word. Faith is a product of laboring in the Word. When you labour in the Word to give birth to faith, faith will labour to give birth to the impossible in your life. Faith as a fruit is what you are sustained by. Gives stability to your life irrespective of the inconsistencies in your context. Faith is a fruit of the spirit. Staying clear of the impulses of the canal mind and fleshly living is providing a controlled environment for faith to thrive. Walking by faith is a healthy way to live because it frees you from worrying and anxiety.
The health of your faith
Your faith can be weak– if you consider your circumstances. Your circumstances will lie to you. Do not use your situation as a guide for the outcome of your life. The Word of God must regulate your life and not your physical state of affairs.
Your faith will stagger-if you are divided in your own mind and waiver- this is what unbelief is.
Dead Faith- faith without action or unexpressed is dead. Many of us claim to believe but do nothing about what we believe. Such faith is dead and cannot deliver. The Word of God you cannot act on is the Word you do not believe.
Strong faith gives glory to God way before the manifestation of what you are believing for. Faith is the evidence and proof that you have what you have believed therefore, you can praise and thank God before the physical manifestation of what you have believed.
The patience of faith
Time is a pressure point when walking by faith. What you have to understand is that time is subject to faith and therefore can not oppose faith successfully. No matter the restrictions time is putting on what you have believed God for, do not let go. When you hear from God through his Word, time is not a factor. Patience is a requirement in operating faith. Patience is not an endorsement of delay, but an ingredient needed for faith to deliver. ‘He that believes shall not make haste’ the scriptures declare.
Faith is shameless
Faith is persuaded and convinced of the reality of the Word of God and so can deal with mockery and hostility. Faith always wins because the Word is true and not a lie.
Be encouraged to walk by faith and not by sight. Be strengthened to stand on the Word in spite of the opposition you have to deal with. ‘…this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith’.
